Overate massively 2 days in a row

Both yesterday and today my days total calories came to about 3100. I have a cold and I am feeling so rough and icky and I guess my desire to comfort eat just overwhelmed me.

I thought I would be able to control myself today but I didn't.

It wouldn't be so bad if I'd been more active but because of this cold all I've been doing is sitting around wallowing in self pity for feeling rough.

What is the worst that comes of this if I keep it up until the cold is over (it shouldn't last much longer right, normally colds last 5-6 days?) and then up my deficit from 250 to 500 calories to make up for the overeating while I had a cold - how long would it take to get on track?

I eat a lot of spicy Asian soup when I'm sick. Because it's spicy and is soup, I don't over eat it. I also drink a ton of tea.

Try not to feel bad. It really takes it out of you. When you are better, do an extra half hour work out
Eat a lot more protein but carbs too, not complex
    Extra vegetables

Don't focus so much on the damage and the numbers. Just focus on making better choices now and when you're better. If you start playing with numbers you're just going to make yourself feel worst. I've had bad days, hell I had a bad week just a bit ago! But I just moved on and started tightening up my logging. I really didn't pay much mind to how many calories I went over because I knew I would just obsess over it and then feel bad about myself.

Get well soon, and it only takes like 2 seconds to get back on track.

That's what's so great about tracking calories; it's so uncomplicated that you can just get right back on track the next day (or the next hour if you so choose). I hope you feel better; I've had a little cold too lately. Our temps here have been fluctuating by as much as 50 degrees in a day, so we're all a little run down. It's supposed to be 70 here in the northeast tomorrow, and it was 20 the other day.

You're sick! Your body is trying to tell you it needs something. Don't stress about overeating. Just try to get well and feel better. Any overeating you do now will balance out when you're feeling strong again. :)
Take care of yourself and hope you feel better soon!

I had the flu in February and was sick pretty much the whole month (still have a cough). I had plenty of days where I made crappy food choices and still managed to lose 8lbs. Just look at it in the overall scheme of things. Mark it down to the cold, vow to eat better today (maybe eat a bunch of chicken soup and water!) and you'll be back on track immediately. Your weight will likely follow in the next few days. Good luck!

I sympathize! I'm getting over a cold and decided to have a splurge and eat several fresh chocolate chip cookies. Made me feel better though ;) Tomorrow is a new day.

1500 per day is not horrible. Take care of yourself.

Agreed. Your body probably needs the extra calories for fight off your illness.

When I'm sick, I eat whatever I want. I really feel my cravings are my body telling me I need something, plus it's easier to stick to eating what I really want rather than try to sub for something else (I end up eating what I tried to avoid anyway). Last bad cold I had, I lived off Wheat Thins and freeze pops for 4 days.

Please don't fret and get well soon. <3
