How much is 2 oz. of spaghetti (weighed dry) equal once it is cooked? Is it a cup?

The rule of thumb is pasta dry pasta will double when cooked. So 2oz. dry-=4oz. cooked, approximately. Factors that can cause variation are the type (whole grain) and shape.0

Pasta/noodles/rice/couscous are the only thing I totally guess. I figure I don't eat them enough to make a huge difference either way, but the cooked weight can totally vary depending on how long you leave it in the water and what not. So yeah... it's a pain. The best way is to measure before you cook it, but when you're cooking for 4 people, it's just too much of a pain.0

2 oz dry should yield roughly 1 cup serving cooked.0
