I stopped reading at 'Green tea blasts away fat'. No tea does this. The only way tea helps with weight loss is if it curbs your appetite, therefore meaning that you eat less and are within your calorie goal.

Drink tea if you enjoy tea, just don't expect any miracle weight loss as a result.

It's only helpful if it is accurate -- and it doesn't seem like accurate information.

It's a nice list of teas, but I've never seen any research that suggests they have a noticeable impact on weight loss. Green tea had a possible impact on metabolism of like 4% (approx. 50-100 calories for the average person) in one very old study. Hardly "blasting away" anything.

Unfortunately, unless it is accurate, it's the opposite of helpful - it teaches people to believe that something is going to be a miracle fix when it isn't. Miseducation is never helpful.

If tea magically blasted fat, would anyone be overweight?

I wish there really was magic fat blasting tea. Sadly while some of those teas sound very nice to drink for the flavor, none are going to blast fat.

Most laxatives do, just not safely (or sustainably--water weight loss goes right back on).

If tea really helped, then the Brits wouldn't have a weight issue. ;) (In best British accent) Spot of tea.......................

The "detox" and "slim" teas almost all contain natural diuretics or laxatives. They force your body to dump water or waste, but won't help with fat loss. You might see a big drop on the scale due to the fluids and poo being expelled, but it will come back once you stop the teas. Be careful with them, especially those containing senna. Senna shouldn't be used for more than 7 days.

Weight loss products are all a bunch of crap. Including these teas! Don't fall for it. Eat at a deficit, work out if you need to and keep it up. It takes time, not an over night "detox" process.

Stock up on toilet paper before you take it. My friend calls these Poop Tea. It's just a laxative.

Senna is an herbal laxative. Useful if you're constipated. Not so useful for weight loss. It's just a disguised form of laxative abuse.

Yes. You'd be better off drinking green tea if you like it and sticking to a diet and exercise plan

A laxative is only "help" if you're actually constipated. Taking them to lose weight can be dangerous (and it isn't very effective beyond short-term weight loss that is quickly regained).

Yup, and you take a laxative when you don't need it, your going to cause yourself all sorts of distress. There's a reason laxative abuse is considered disordered behavior

Weight loss is more about consumption than exercise. One can exercise as much as they want, but if consumption isn't controlled, then weight loss isn't going to happen.
So be honest to yourself. Are you REALLY doing everything right when it comes to CICO? If not, then that's where you should resolve first.

I understand how you feel. I found myself weighing 331 pounds at Christmas. I said, "Ok, this HAS TO STOP!" So on Jan 6th I found MFP. I entered all my info and MFP set me up on a plan for 2lb a week. I began honestly weighing and logging every single thing I put in my mouth. I'm now 299 pounds. So I've lost 32 pounds in just over 2 months. No exercise other than walking at my job. None. If you follow the MFP plan that it gives you and weigh and log your food, you'll be successful.

So is it plan where you actually weigh your food for accuracy? Or is it more liquid based?

Have you considered that your weight issue is related to a problem with your periods?

(And possibly other punctuation as well?)

That's your reaction to someone who's hurting, frustrated, and asking for help?

Unfortunately, there's one in every bunch :/

Are you weighing everything you eat to make sure your portion sizes are appropriate? Logging what you eat to track your calories?

OP save your money and ditch the slumming teas/supplements.

Enter all your info into MFP, and eat the calories it gives you.
If you want to be precise, then I suggest getting a food scale and weighing everything you eat, save cup measurements for fluids only. Weigh and log everything honestly and accurately, and you will see weight loss xx

Don't stress out over exercise for now, you don't need it to lose weight. The calories mfp has given you will let you lose weight with zero exercise.

Focus on one thing at a time, get comfortable and precise with that, and then move up to the next thing if you want.
