    For sure ask your doctor...
the only thing I can think of is are you eating enough omega 3's? For example; fish, avacado, olive oil things that "lubricate your joints"

if your joints aren't used to exercise it will take some time to toughen them up. Pace yourself and build up slowly. Cracking in the knee isn't a problem unless there is pain. If you have pain that isn't just soreness from being more active, you should see a doctor. Another thing that can help is being fully warmed up before you start jogging, take the time to get your knees and muscles warm. At home you can ice them to feel better.

I have same issue and I also noticed it before i started walking/jogging. Same knee and all! Lol. My Dr said I may be in the beginning stages of arthritis. She said I need to take it easy on the running and focus on proper knee placement when exercising. Ie: dont take long strides on treadmill, the ball of your foot should hit beneath you to lessen the stress on the knees. She also said to keep working out and my knees will strengthen. I take ibuprofen for inflammation when it bothers me but since I've been watching how I land on or bend my knees it doesnt bother me as much. I'm supposed to call dr if it persists or gets worse

    Hope this helps!

    Same knee issue here.
My right knee feels tight but not really painful. I attribute it to be being weak because I just started the strong lifts 5x5 program Mon,Wed,Fri. I do intense stair master cardio Tues Thursday & walk my lab daily after the gym for 1hr. I am keeping an eye on it. The last thing I need is an injury to screw up my fitness level progress...

Omg ..., yes that's what I'm afraid of a barely started walking/jogging and I'm feeling awesome and enjoying, and I'm like if I get a serious problem with my knee I wouldn't be able to run. Im looking to eventually do weights and other intense exercise. So definitely keep an eye on it! Best wishes:)

I used to have a lot of pain in my right knee. It usually felt okay while I was exercising or walking but it would hurt if I was seated for long periods of time. Long car rides were excruciating. I don't know for sure what the cause was but I increased my shoe size by one and that seemed to help. I rarely have knee pain anymore and I can definitely handle long car rides or sitting in a movie theater.

Whenever I have had knee pain or lower back pain, I usually check on my feet because they are usually the problem. I am flat-footed and slightly pronated.

Knee pain can come from a variety of sources. I used to have simply excruciating knee pain from simply living, let alone doing any running. A few things helped me:

    1. Losing 50# helped a ton!
    2. Lifting weights on leg day helped, especially leg extensions. My doctor told me I had unequal strength on the sides of my knee cap, the stronger side pulling my knee cap out of alignment. Strengthening both sides of my quads aided greatly.
    3. I inadvertently worked my quads so much they became far stronger than my hamstrings on the backs of my legs, leading to a different variation of the problem from #2 above. I've been working lately on hamstring exercises, which has curtailed that problem.
    4. I've tried different OTC pills for joint problems, such as glucosamine and chondroitin. I've found the most benefit for me comes from flaxseed oil, available in pill form at Wal-Mart.

Before self-medicating, ease into an exercise program working all muscles around the knee, consulting a doctor for any pain beyond simple exercise-induced soreness. Some people respond to knee pain "fixes" quickly; others like me require a combination of approaches to overcome arthritis and bad living. But I'm happy to say my knee only pains me maybe 1 day a week (compared to every day) and the level of pain is a mere fraction what it used to be, virtually pain-free most of the time. It's a wonderful feeling, and it can happen to you too!

Great info! Thanks I'm planning to see my doctor sometime next week. I'm pretty sure something is wrong because I had pain before I started exercise and I used to have a sedentary life style. I weigh 155 pounds, 5'6", im giving this info because I heard weight might be an influence (I'm a beginner, my exercise is not intense yet) but definitely you guys help a lot so I have some ideas of what might be happening.
Ps. Pain increase now that I do some exercise! Thank you everyone
