A Question of Carbs and Macro's...

Hi all,
So, I'm shifting the spare tire.
I have been on IIFYM.com and calculated a 500 calorie deficit and have the following Macro goals:
I'm not eating my exercise calories either.
I'm constantly hitting the Protein and Fat goals but rarely manage to get up to the Carb goal...but feel I don't need it.
Is the magic of Macro's and shifting weight dependant on me eating enough carbs?
I've had a read around and nothing seems to give a concrete answer.
There seems to be a couple of schools of thought
a) Carbs are your energy source so if you feel you have enough energy you probably don't need all the carbs and cutting down your macro goal on this alone is okay.
b) Eat your carbs so as to send the message to your metabolism that you don't need your fat reserves as your steady dietary intake is enough to fuel you.
Thoughts anyone?
Cheers all.

It's fine to be under. No magic involved in either way.0

Cool. I would love something to read up on this if either of you can suggest some homework0 -
The more carbs you eat, the less fat you will burn. Better macros would be 18c/22p/60f.

http://www.dietdoctor.com/science has a list of 18 RCTs at the bottom with different macro distributions tested against one another.0
