Feeling panicked!

I've maintained a weight of 130 lbs (height: 5'7) for about a year. With the exception of in the fall when I worked my way down to 124 (and was crushed when I gained it all back in one second in January) I've stayed at 130. My goal weight for that time was 120. Within the past few months, I haven't changed anything but again went through a weight gain of 6-8 pounds in less than 2 weeks! I've been "maintaining" that, but wanting to lose weight and be down around 120-125.
However I've been receiving the opposite results..the scale is just climbing higher! I'm also extremely discouraged by the fact that my mom and most of her family are overweight and have struggled with their weights for as long as I can remember. I want to break that chain, I always have - but it's very difficult because as many of you know, weight loss is an emotional journey and it can't just be "fixed" by going to the gym 6 days a week (at least IMO). I'm thinking and obsessing over food way more than I should!
-For anyone that is at their goal weight; how did you lose the last 10-15 pounds? This is proving painfully difficult and emotionally draining on me..
-Emotional eating - any tips?
Thanks.

Hey!
Let me share with you how I lost 10lbs. I do exercise 6 days a week, but I also have cut some things out of my diet. I do not have any bread, pasta, chips, snacks. I have a consistent diet each week: my protein shake and oatmeal with banana, chai seeds, and peanut butter, an apple a couple hours later, a banana with peanut butter for lunch, another apple a couple hours later, then for dinner normally chicken/fish with veggies.
Dieting is definately a large part of it. Having you tried eating small 5 meals a day?
Weight loss is definately 100% an emothional journey, that's why there are more obese people in the world than fit or healthy people. I know you say going to the gym 6 days a week won't fix it, and I actually agree with that. I do not like the gym the slightest bit! I do home workout DVDs, so I can do them anytime anywhere and it only cost the initial cost of the DVDs. Exercise will help speed up your metabolism and help maintain weight. But eating healthy plays a HUGE part of it, and cutting out unneeded carbs plays a major part in weightloss.0
