We just got back a week ago from a two month trip to Tucson. We walked and hiked and ride bikes there in the sunshine. Now we are back in rainy, muddy Pacific Northwest and all I want to do it eat salty snacks and drink red wine. I am trying to lose weight (aboit 6 pounds) for my niece's wedding in June and also want to tone up, so I joined a gym and have gone once and plan to go tomorrow. I am missing the sunshine and warmth of AZ.

That's why I'm so glad I live in Southern California. B) I feel so blah in gloomy climates. I was born down here, but I lived in Washington for several years as a kid, so I know what you mean. It's beautiful up there, but I just can't take the gloom for very long. I think I would hibernate my life away. It's bad enough for me during the winter down here. Maybe you should look into getting one of those sun lamps to boost your energy and motivation. :)

Haha I live in the Pacific Northwest too, in eastern Washington. I totally can relate to this. These past couple months have been rough on me. I've gained about 5 pounds these past couple months just because I feel the same as you. It's icky outside and it just makes me wanna lay in bed and eat snacks all day. But the weather is getting nicer and I've already lost 3 pounds of what I've gained! Just from being happier and there's more sunshine and I feel like I have more energy to workout. Plus when it's sunny and nice out I crave salads and fresh produce. I don't know why haha.

Yep. I'm in the PNW also and am really struggling this winter. Usually I get through the winter just fine, but I am not sure what is wrong this time around.

I'm in PNW too. It's been tight winter & I hibernated a little too much back in November. Then after a couple of decent days, I realized I couldn't go on like that until spring!

Get yourself a wide brimmed rain hat, parka, and waterproof pants and go for s walk. Our rain is often light so the hardest part is just getting our rears in gear! It's ususlly not too bad once you get going. Plus, starting tomorrow, there will be more light in the evening.

PS Here's hubby & I in our rain gear at the start of a 10k in Tacoma this morning! Yes, it was raining, but stopped shortly into th event, but we didn't know that it would. We were the only 100% walkers, but who cares? We had fun and walked my fastest pace ever.
