Work out suggestions

About 5 months ago I committed to changing my eating habits and increase my physical activity.

When I started I was at 330 lbs at 5'7" I'm now 268. To get here I eat between 1200-1400 calories a day. I work out between 3-5times a week.

I don't have a gym membership and don't plan on getting one till I feel I will dedicate the time to go. Every time I get one I'll spend months of paying for the membership and not going. I think it's probably a confidence thing.. Everyone "staring" but they probably aren't ..

Lately I feel my regimen has become a bit boring and I want to increase my weight loss. currently I rotate from briskly walking for an hour and the next day I use weights. I have a bench press and Dumbbells. I have a stationary bike I don't use much.

I just need some suggestions that wouldn't involve going to the gym. I'm pretty open to trying anything but I'm not into cross fit and I'm not quite the runner I wish to be.

Any suggestions on how to slowly get into running would be great too!!

Thanks!

Are there any club sports or inter mural teams you could join?

I started playing golf, tennis and volleyball and find so so so much more satisfaction and fun factor from that than "working out". I suck at all of it - but it's fun. I move. And they are progressive so am getting better at them and feeling better for it.

If you would rather go it alone...Roller blading, biking, frisbee golf?

I guess it also depends on the temperature and weather where you are?

Fitnessblender has a wide range of workouts to suit all abilities and a large number of these require no equipment what so ever. I am convinced you will find plenty of workouts that suit your needs.

I'm in California. I guess that's not a bad idea. I could look into maybe a coed sport of some sort. I used to play volleyball softball and water polo. Probably wouldn't jump back into polo lol.

C25k - you'll never be the runner you want to be unless you run!

What would you suggest to get into it?

I have started watching dance workout videos on YouTube. I use our PS3 to watch them on TV. I've done some body combat dance ones and zumba. Hard work! (For me at least) ;)
