Losing Weight Too Fast?

I've been on this program 12 days and like the balance it gives me in choosing my diet. But am I losing weight too quickly?

A week ago I was at 215, now at 211.4. My goal is 190, net calorie target is 1,800. I'm at my carb goal, 2% over fat goal, 2% under protein goal. Body fat is 25%. I do cardio every day, weights 3x a week.

I don't feel hungry, like I said my diet is pretty balanced at least compared to previously. Should I be concerned about losing more than 1 pound per week?

The first week you will see a greater loss due to changes in water weight. It will taper off. If it doesn't, increase your calories. You can safely lose up to 2 pounds per week or 1% of your bodyweight.

First weeks are great for weight loss. If it is still rapid after a few weeks I recommend seeing a dr. I remember a few years ago someone posting the same thing and everyone said not to worry about it then the person came back and told us she almost died. So now I am careful about what I say ;)

Yeah, soon you'll be back on here asking why you're not still losing 3 lbs a week LOL. Weight loss isn't linear. Most of us lose a lot at first because we'd been eating a lot of sodium filled foods, and so got rid of a lot of water our bodies were retaining. After the first couple of weeks, it usually goes a bit wonky. Some weeks you'll lose a little. Some a lot. Some not at all, even though you've done everything the same. That's how it goes.

Congrats on getting started and seeing some immediate results! Stick with it and you'll be successful :)

Okay, the sodium-water connection makes sense. Thank you!
