So I've decided that I want to run the princess half marathon next year in disney. This is huge for me as I haven't even ran my first 5k race yet. My exercise routine is usually running on my treadmill at least 3.1 miles each time I get on it. The most I have ran on it was 8 miles one time though. With the weather getting nicer too I also bike. Does anyone have any training tips or advice if you have done a marathon? What should I eat before the race etc. I'm a diabetic as well so I don't really want to carb load. Thank you.

Thank you so much!!! I was never a runner either. I absolutely hated running but within the last 2 years I've grown to tolerate it and it's a good stress reliever for me. I was in a car accident 8 months ago and my back and neck took the blunt of the injuries so I'm not allowed to lift anything per doctors orders so all I can do is cardio!

Get on runnersworld and also get connected to your local running shop. You'll benefit greatly from also joining a running group so you can get tips from experienced runners.

Lots of how to train for marathon plans out there. I know Zombies Run has a Couch 2 5k program as well as training to help working up to a Marathon as well, not sure about the other C25k programs. Take it gradually, and have fun!
