Advice please!
I'm a food addict. I'm powerless over sugar, flour, wheat, and dairy. I am my best self in all areas of my life when my diet is free from these foods. "Moderation" is not possible for me, and the voice in my head that tells me I can manage it, "just this once", is ALWAYS wrong.
That voice has gotten louder recently though. I'm going to South Korea in April on vacation for two weeks. I know that food is a big part of the cultural experience that I'll want to participate in. I'm worried that if I bend a rule here or there, then I'll have a hard time returning to my strict diet when I return. This happened last year when I went to Uganda. My weight loss stalled, then has bounced up and down since, and I've struggled to regain the "freedom" that gave me so much success initially.
I know that many of you do well with moderation, and will argue that I should take complete advantage of the experience. Are there any of you that share my struggle? What do you do in circumstances where you have little control over your food? Are there any of you that have been to South Korea and can offer suggestions?
Thank you!
