Hiya everyone!!!
My name is Ashley and I am 33 years old weighing the most I have ever weighed in my life! There are so many things wrong with this picture I'm overweight and I found out I have high blood pressure. Did I mention I was a smoker too?
Well, the good news is its now or never to get back on a healthy track. I have quit smoking and am currently taking a blood pressure meds to get that down. Actually typing this to you in my intro is eye-opening to me. I am looking forward to getting and shape and getting off of these darn blood pressure pills. Wish me luck!

I'm also 33 and had to keep an eye on my BP since it was getting pretty high. What really helped me is joining a Biggest Loser competition with some coworkers where would weigh in weekly in front of one another. It really activated my competitive side (and not to mention I didn't want to be "that person" who gained weight) and I ended up winning it.
I walk during my work breaks and drink a TON of water throughout the day. I bring in a 64oz growler (I used to use for beer) with filtered water and ice so I always have water at my side. I drink at least 100oz of water a day (yes, I pee all the time). I do simple swaps like spaghetti squash with marinara instead of pasta, I cut back my portions (I don't go back for "seconds"), and I don't drink soda - well, I drink a zero cal energy drink every morning since I'm not a coffee person. All in all, I don't feel deprived and I get excited to get on the scale. I keep my calories between 1200-1400/day. I log everything I eat on MFP and it has really helped to open my eyes to how many calories are in things.
At my last few doctor visits, my BP has been normal! I need to do my blood work again to see how that's changed, but one thing at a time. lol
Great start by quitting smoking! You can totally get your BP back on track if you can tackle smoking. You got this!0 -
I never wish luck because losing weight isn't luck like winning the lotto so I wish you wellness!0
