What could I aim for in the future?

Currently:
5'8" 233lbs F, age 34
Walking c.50-60 miles a week (carrying 0-50lbs)
Swim once per week - 2.5kms in c.55 minutes (would love to do more but can't afford more babysitting)
Do run/walk intervals (45-60 minutes) usually twice a week. Can run a slow 5K without stopping (37/38 minutes).
Have a reasonable home treadmill.
Do have access to some basic weights although not currently using them.

My main issue is:
- SAHM to 20 month old twins and have no help so all exercise has to be done with them or while they nap at home (only at home during their nap 3 x a week)

I'd love to have some realistic goals to aim for that aren't all weight loss based. Any ideas of what I could try to achieve in, say, 3, 6 and 12 months based on where I am now?

Well, what would you like to be able to do? Are there any sports or other activities you want to get involved in? What is your overall fitness goal?

I guess I'd like to improve my cardio fitness and do something that makes me feel like me and not just mum all the time!

If you're interested in increasing your cardio fitness and are enjoying the running you're doing (and given that the treadmill is convenient for you), consider signing up for a 5k race! 5k races are abundant, cheap, and way more fun than I thought they would be. They are also popular and accessible enough that there will be lots of other people running at your speed, even if you're not going particularly fast (I ran my last 5k race in about 32 minutes, and was maybe 2/3 of the way down the results list). If you run a 5k race in the next couple months, you'll have a time goal to beat for next time!

Other longer-term goals might be running longer distances like 10k, half-marathon, etc. And since you like swimming, and if you're interested in biking, you might also consider a sprint triathlon. I imagine the kids might enjoy coming along on bike rides in a bike trailer.

    Good luck!
