The BEST breakfast smoothie!
Hi everyone - So I work at an elementary school, the other day we had Wellness Day and a local farm came and taught the kids K-5 how to make a healthy smoothie for breakfast. We all got to sample it, and I have to say - don't frown on any of the ingredients - if you give this a try I promise your kids, and you will love it!
Ninja or Vitamix blenders work best I'd say - Add 1 cup of fresh spinach, 1 full frozen banana, and 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. You can then blend this - add in one drop of mint extract if they would prefer mint, this is phenomenal. That's only about 125 Calories for 1 smoothie - with 1 whole serving of vegetables 1 whole serving of fruit in one sitting!
Since I am a chocolate fan, I modify mine some days to this: 1 cup of fresh spinach, 1 full frozen banana, and 1 cup of dark chocolate almond milk. (I don't add the mint, but you could!)
Keep in mind that I had NEVER drank any almond milk before, always skim - chocolate/skim...you can use any kind of milk or liquid that you'd like...you just have to make sure you add 1 cup of whatever it is you choose!

I make a smoothie with unsweetened almond milk, whole banana, vanilla yogurt and PB2 peanut butter. I add a little Splenda if it's not sweet enough. Sooo good!0

Her is my smoothie which is 100% plant base: 8 oz carrot juice, 8 oz water, 4 oz organic spring mix, 1 frozen banana, 1 tbs coconut oil (Trader Joe's), 2/3 tbs sunflower seed butter or 2/3 tbs cashew butter and 1/2 to 1 cup chick peas all blended together in my Vitamix. Makes enough for 3 servings.0
