I am just re-starting and getting back into the swing of things.

Do you eat back or your exercise calories or not?

I see exercise calories as a reward for my hard work. Also, I'm doing 1200 calories. So, if I exercise, I'll be way below a healthy level. So, It's one way of convincing myself it's worth the effort!

It depends on how you are calculating your caloric needs. If you are calculating by the BMR method, then yes, you should eat back your exercise calories (be aware though, that you may over estimate how many calories you actually burn during exercise). If you are calculating your caloric needs by TDEE, then you wouldn't eat your exercise calories back. I personally like TDEE, because it takes into account activity levels. But keep in mind that everyone is different, and this is a marathon, not a sprint. You should always keep an eye on your progress, and adjust accordingly when you need to. At the end of the day, online calculators are just a place to get a good idea of where to start, but they are by no means 100% accurate to you and your goals.

I do not.. but i'm also not a nazi about eating what my calories are set too. If I go over, then I must have needed more food.. or i just made bad choices.. (sunday! *ahem*) LOL.

I dont' want to track forever, so i'm trying to teach myself to make the right choices..

    My problem is beer. lol.

I don't, i really don't always track my calories anymore on here (just mostly mental) but whatever i burn off i just feel good about it, i eat my normal meals and i have no desire to eat extra just bc i ran or something like that.
  • I eat some of them. I always make sure I have a little something after I workout. For the most part I use cals burned as a buffer or treat.
