To count or not to count calories

Question peeps:
Is it better to go gym or workout and NOT count the calories burned and mark it as "1 calories burnt doing 1hr of gym" so it's not a temptation to eat back some of my calories that has been burnt or just continue marking down the calories burned as in 1,000 calories burned in 60 of treadmill etc??
What do you do?
