Puzzled by lower calories after deficit

When I was losing weight 4 years ago, I was set for a pound a week and at my lowest was at 1230 calories (net). I've maintained, but drifted up four pounds over winter and want to drop back into my range. I reset to losing a pound a week and it has me at 1200. But that's more than the 500 calorie a day deficit it used to be. So I'm puzzled. Any insight? It's not a big deal because I expect to lose it in just a few weeks, but I don't understand it.

You lose 5-10 calories a year due to age. Last year, weighing 103 lbs, I lost 6 cals on my birthday.
That, and a slight rounding out should account for the 30 cal difference.

The average persons BMI decreases 50-100 cals per decade, depending on size, gender and activity level.

    Cheers, h.

I guess it could be age. It's been 5 years since I was last at a deficit. My activity level is always at sedentary because I log all my exercise with an apple watch (it used to be a fitbit). But I was a sedentary then and am now.

I guess MFP could also have changed their algorithm. I've been in maintenance four years.

Just as a double check run your numbers with the earlier age.
