Protein macros/sources

I don't follow macros too much right now because I'm still trying to work through other things dietarily (habits, staying in calorie range, etc). The way I have things set currently is protein 40%, fat 30% and carbs 30%. As such, that is 120gms of protein a day. I can't even get close to that at this point and my carbs are almost always over. I have a severe dairy allergy so it means I can't do cheese, yogurt, milk, etc. It makes it really hard to get enough protein. I do plenty of meats, eggs, etc. I will not touch soy or fish. Should I just not worry about this right now and focus on sticking to my calorie goals (which I've struggled with anyway) until I have that down or do I really need to try and get this up to 120gms?

What is your height and weight?

It's easier to get your calories in line first. But one tip to get more protein if you can't add dairy, reduce your carb intake from grains/starches and increase your meat portion. If you get a leaner cut of meat you can create more room in your diet and add fat in elsewhere.

I'm skimming 5'3" and currently at 234. Aiming for 150 (which sounds like a lot for my height but is actually almost perfect for me).

Yeah...I would really try to get at least 120g of protein. If you eat 4 meals per day, that's 30 grams per meal, or a little less if you have a dessert and a snack with protein. It's not really that difficult.
