In 2013 I ran my first half marathon. As soon as I crossed the finish line, my first thought was "I want to do a full now!" In 2014, I got pregnant and gave birth to my first child. It's been harder getting back into running because I'm a single mom working more than full time and trying to take care of/spend time with my son. But, I have started running again. In October 2015 I completed my second half marathon and it took about 7 minutes longer than my first. On a whim, I put my name into the lottery for the TCS NYC full marathon, thinking there was no way I'd get picked. BUT I DID!! 26.2 miles is a LONG way to run and I have started a 30 week training program. On November 6th, 2016 I WILL cross that finish line!
For those that have run a marathon before, what tips do you have for me as far as food goes? I am still trying to lose weight as well but know that nutrition and fueling my body needs to be on the forefront.
