Hi all! Long story here, but I have been on a weight loss journey for a while. When I lost weight in my 20's I always followed a low cal diet and lost weight with no issue. After both children I did the same and got down below 110----which is where I look my best. I hopped on the low carb journey a few years back and would lose about 5 lbs---from 125 or 127 and they just get stuck. I was not monitoring my calories, but I was eating 10 carbs or less per day. I just figured I was old and that was my lot in life. Then one day (recently) i got down to 120=====yet again! and had a grapefruit that night. stayed under 1200 calories a day recently because I am REALLY on a mission. Well, to my surprise, I weighed in the next day (no shark week or excess salt intake) and weighed 124.8. After research, I found that when you eliminate or greatly reduce carbs, your cells lose the water that they normally carry. So, what I lost was only water weight, and the minute I ate something (albeit low calorie and within calorie restrictions) I brought the water back into my cells and my weight on the scale reflected my actual weight. So now I am going to do what always worked for me in the past and that is monitor my calories. No more low carb. Healthy vegetables, fruits and lean proteins.
I am looking for other women that are around my height that have successfully ate at a deficit and reached 110 or less. My goal is 105. For me, it makes me look healthy, radiant and good. I do not look skinny by any means! at that weight. I have a large (would love to reduce) chest and enormous thighs. My legs slim down when I get under 110. Also, I now am using a fitbit and walking 10,000 steps per day. I will not eat back my calories burned.
Thanks for your input and help!
