After 9 months my fitbit caused a rash/irritation

My fitbit flex started causing an irritation on my wrist the past couple weeks. I've had it since last June with no issues.

It's both under the tracker and at the clasp. I switched bands and continued to have the issue so I took it off 4 days ago. The areas apear to be almost healed now.

Has anyone had this happen? Did it resolve or were you able to remedy the situation?

I didn't expect it to start this all of a sudden. Not sure if I'll be putting it back on.

    Thanks @_Waffle_
I had heard about that being a possible cause but since it's on the clasp side too I didn't think that would be the cause. I guess sweat could run along the band though and have that affect. Also because it was previously not a problem, I thought it was maybe an allergen exposure response.

I suppose it could be either, and either way I need to be cautious with my fitbit now.

You might have developed a nickel allergy, which is common, I have one, and that is why I steer clear of the wearable trackers like that. I wonder if you could put some clear nail polish on the metal parts and if it would still work if you did?
