Your weight X 15 = maintance?

4,000 calories per day is the reason I'm on this site now trying to LOSE weight.... I have another 100lbs to go, so I don't think 4000/day is going to work0

Not sure, but I think when I have read this before in posts - for it to work it is your GOAL weight x 15. Not your current. I could have misunderstood though. As you have stated it would not work for me, I have about 20# to lose yet.0

Wow I did that calculation and need 3465 calories to maintain lol...never would I ever eat that much even before I started losing weight. I have about 75 to go. I normally stay in the range of 1400---1500 calories and at first when I was 280 lbs. I had a deficit of almost 1000 because I was working out so much to kick start my weight loss. I'm now tapering off on the workouts and consuming the same amount....still losing 1-2 lbs. a week at 231lbs. Perhaps the calculation works if you are not considered "obese" lol...it seems ridiculous to me.0
