Addicted to weighing and measuring

I just want to express that I am addicted to weighing and measuring! I am nice and relaxed when I can prepare my own food or make a good estimate at a restaurant. But when I am presented with meals that are hard to estimate, I become a nervous wreck. I can’t trust myself to know when I’ve had enough, so I am navigating in the dark and never know where I stand with the day’s calorie intake. It’s a very uncomfortable feeling. I don’t think it’s normal to be so dependent on weighing and measuring in order to feel relaxed. It makes me very wary of Easter and also some upcoming travel. I guess I don’t expect any solution, I just need to express how stressful it is to eat intuitively. I really don’t envision ever being free of the scale.

It doesn't sound so much like a weighing and measuring issue as much as thinking that one meal or day where you estimate your calories in a rather imprecise manner that it will mess up your weight loss. At least that is what it seems like to me from what you posted. I can understand that. However, assuming this is an infrequent thing, it will not ruin everything in one meal. It took a lot more than one meal or one day to put on the weight, so having it sink in that the one meal or one day while causing maybe a very small increase in fat, will not ruin or undo everything you have done.
