going over Fat amount

So I've been carefully tracking every morsel that passes my lips for the last 3 days and so far so good. I don't feel hungry, I have lots of energy. I'm all round feeling good!

My problem is...
I stay at 1200 calories (plus eating back my calories burnt from exercise) I manage to hit my protein and carb quota for the day and that's all fine. But my fat and sugar allowance is ALWAYS over. and I don't know how?? I've been only eating "good" fats such as Nuts etc and the only sugar I have is Honey and Fruit. its all natural occurring.

Will this effect my weight loss? Have i got to cut out ALL sugar and stuff to see any effect?
By the way I know I've only been doing 3 days so I know i wont see results yet lol- I'm not stupid.

Any help is appreciated!

Hope everyone is feeling in control

In short... no. For the most part, a calorie is a calorie, is a calorie. Though you should try to stick to your macros, it won't make or break your diet. I lost 65 pounds eating whatever I felt like, just 1500 calories worth of whatever I felt like.

i agree that a calorie is a calorie, for the most part. it seems like you're doing a good job, so i wouldn't worry too much. i don't eat added sugars but ALWAYS go over because of fruit. also, healthy fats can help you feel full, so i don't see anything wrong with going over.

the macros are just a guideline, not a strict set of rules.

i'd agree for the most part it probably wont hamper you much.

Honestly, i think as long as you get enough protien and your active and you don't go over cal you can't lose

I don't even watch sugar, just carbs, they all turn into glucose anyway

in RE to sugar, manage your macros, not your micros unless you have a compelling medical reason to do so. MFP's sugar recommendation = the American Heart Association's and WHO's recommendation for ADDED sugar and doesn't take into account naturally occurring sugars from fruit and veg, etc as there is no formal, sanctioned recommendation for total sugar.

In RE to fat, most people who diet don't get enough. Fat is a very essential nutrient and people try to cut way too much out. I always meet or exceed my fat goals. As long as I'm 25-35% of my calories in fat, I'm golden. I don't really worry about carbs at all...either over or under...doesn't really matter other than I need enough to get me through my workouts and replenish glycogen stores.
  • Thanks Guys.
    Big help :)

It won't make any difference whatsoever, I am always over my fat and sugar count. It doesn't affect weight loss. Fat doesn't make you fat, excess calories do.

There's nothing wrong or unhealthy about fat.
