My intake of sodium is always like 2000 mg over what it should be. I can't escape it every food I eat has a ridiculous amount of sodium i feel like. Other than that I have done really well, lost 18 pounds since I started, is the sodium holding me back from shedding more weight?

No it is not. Well at least not fat or muscle, water retention may appear on the body and scale, but unless you have a health condition that makes it necessary to limit sodium, you are fine0

I have pretty much stopped salting foods and try limit intake by not eating a lot of processed foods. I have found some frozen chicken breast at Costco that don't add a lot of salt but the others taste too salty.0

I'm the same way - very rarely eat anything sweet other than fruit and everything I eat tends to be salty.
No, it won't keep you from losing weight, but it can cause water retention. That's the part I have to be careful about. Just make sure you drink lots of water every day.0
