IF is just a way of eating. It fits some lifestyles and doesn't fit others. If you're trying to lose weight, you still have to eat at a deficit to lose weight. IF doesn't cause you to lose extra weight or anything though.

As stated it isn't something magic, you still need to eat at a deficit. Will it work for you to stick to your calorie goal? No idea. It works for some people, not for others. It is totally up to what eating pattern works for you. Again, the goal is compliance with your calorie goal.

Don't be confused. If you can meet your macros with an 8 hours window of eating and perform your job well, you've had a good day.

I.F. is just a tool that helps some people consume less calories than they are burning on any given day, simply because they aren't eating for a larger portion of the day. For example, I do 16:8 I.F., I do not eat from 9pm to 1pm. This means no food in the morning, which I like because I'm generally not particularly hungry and coffee is sufficient. If I actually ate breakfast everyday and all my other meals stayed the same, I'd struggle to stay within my calories. Instead, staying within my goal is relatively easy and I can have my largest meal at night, which is what I prefer.

I.F. itself will not help you lose weight if you are not staying within your calories.

If it is something that works for you, then great. But it doesn't work for everyone and it isn't any kind of miracle or magic. If it was, no one would need to give any other advice in these forums except to do I.F.
