I'm more a city girl. Although hubs keeps talking about getting a cottage up north and shipping the boy and I there all summer. I think that sounds horrible but I guess as long as I have internet I can survive
Thats why they are vacation houses. Live in the city on the daily, and stay at vacation house when you change of scenery. I also live in the city and enjoy it for daily life routines, but I loveeee visiting the mountains and beaches when I travel international.0 -

Not so sure about kidnapped, but more than likely murdered if they piss off the locals by doing something like sleeping with someones spouse, messing with the bar girls, or getting involved with gangs. But thats pretty much any country. You just hear about it more in other countries, because they are much smaller and don't have much of a news outlet, and also have a "vacation" idea pasted to them, so people expect nothing but good things.
Thailand, Indonesia, Kenya, Morocco, etc etc etc. Sooooo many beautiful countries with very low cost of living and very friendly people (as long as you don't do stupid things)0 -

Really if you think of how many kidnappings and murders you hear if compared to how many people have vacation homes in these places it's a pretry small fraction if a percent.
I'm just a city girl. I love communing with nature but I live museums and the like more. So a vacation home with lots of historical stuff near by is what I want.0 -
