Sugar tax (UK) - possible development for the future???

Whilst pondering the latest 'weapon' against obesity in the UK ie sugar tax on fizzy drinks etc in case you hadn't heard, I started to think of how much it would help if the cost of the food rose in proportion to the calories contained in it.
For easy maths, say one calorie costs 1p then a Mars Bar would be £2.30 where an apple would be £0.50. A salad would cost say £1.50 but fish and chips £6.00 (Ish!)
Many of us struggle with the fact that 'healthy' foods are more expensive - just curious if this idea (obviously in a more workable form!) would help ? Manufacturers wouldn't necessarily lose out as they would recoup their costs massively on the high calorie items and it might teach children at an early age to weigh up the better choices!
