Hi everyone! WOW, I wanted to write here today and say how nice it is to get back onto this place and TRACK. HOWEVER, I don't know how good I am at this, because sometimes I feel like I am not getting accurate tracking when I enter how much cardio or weight training I have done, and instead of it deducting from my calories, it just adds to the amount of calories I can have each day. Does anyone feel confused by this? Thanks so much for all help!

That's exactly what logging exercise is designed to do. Your calorie goal on MFP is net calories, to include exercise. So if your typical goal is 1500 calories, but you exercise and burn 400, then you should eat 1900 that day.0

Hi Mel... yes, it can be confusing and I agree the amount of calories burned for different activities isn't always accurate. However, it should show you how many calories that it says you have burned from exercise. I try not to eat back all of my burned calories, knowing it can be a little off, but the exercise does make me hungrier and so I usually just try to eat about half... so if I burned 600 calories, I try to leave myself with about 300 calories left for the day. Hope that helps!0
