Water

I'm new to the MYP message boards so pardon me if this had been discussed before.

Do you count plain unsweetened tea (black, green, herbal) as part of your water?

TIA

I usually don't. Same with coffee. I still measure how much I'm going to drink but I track the things like sugar and creamer. If you're drinking just straight up black tea brewed in hot water I wouldn't stress too much about it.

The only thing I count as water is actual water or water with some flavoring. I log coffee and tea separately.

I do, but being as tea is a mild diuretic, i would not enter the whole volume... if i drank 8 oz of tea, i might enter 6 oz... I also do not use the built in tracker on MFP (as far as mfp is concerned, i drink nothing i guess...) I use Ihydrate, and i really like it, because it allows you to enter what you are drinking (tea, milk, coffee, water, juice, etc) and it syncs with my healthkit.

I try to drink at least 3 20oz bottles of water a day, but after a certain point, water gets boring, and it is no fun to force yourself to drink more of it... tea is a nice way to change it up, and better than drinking pop or some other sweetened beverage. There are people on here who advocate drinking frightening amounts of water, but I've never seen the benefit of forcing yourself to drink more than you want...
