After a dark day, a glimpse of hope...

Yesterday, I posted here on MFP for the very first time about how defeated I felt that my huge amount of weight wasn't going down quickly enough. I received nothing but love, support and words of encouragement from the awesome and amazing MFP community.

Today, I decided to challenge myself. I'm a Long Island resident and took the early train in to the city. I walked from Penn to the Gugg and back again - logging almost 23k steps in just under 4 hours. This is, for me, the most I have ever walked, ever pushed myself. I have so far to go, but today, I'm taking my NSV and claiming victory.

For me 23K steps equals about 10 miles Holy Cow, I am impressed. Yes, you SHOULD claim that NSV!

Hey, that's awesome! What a great idea for an outing! Keep thinking of fun and challenging things like that. I plan about one every two months (mine tend to be running events, so they cost money) and while they give me something to look forward to, they also keep my "training" up :)
