Hello all. My wife and I are both using MFP to track our calories as we try to lose some weight.
For me I'm 45 and have been overweight most of my life. I did lose close to 80 lbs about 15 years ago when my father passed away but I gained it all back in a couple years. Now I am thinking it is time to be a bit more concerned about my health for my kids. I am 282 right now, 5 10 tall and am one of those people you would not guess weighs as much as I do. I always joke when people say they wouldn't have guessed I was 280+ that it's because the fat is all inside but there is probably some truth to that.
I used to be a very strong 280 and now I have become a very weak 280 as the muscle has been replaced by fat but even in University I was still well overweight.
So wish me luck, I am shooting for 220 final which fits my frame fairly well. I have also dug out the weight bench but I would like to get down a few before I go back at the weights.
My three biggest challenges here are going to be beer, BBQ and actually eating enough. I have a bad habit of coming up short on the calorie goal and not eating my full amount. Yes, I know that I need a certain amount to stay healthy but when I get close to the target I start to feel guilty, even though I know perfectly well that the target is a deficit. I will keep working on it
