So today I got my fitbit one. I was pretty excited to get it. However, I have a question. It says I walked 284 steps and then it said i burned 1174 calories which I know is incorrect.. Does anyone know why this is?

It gives you the overall calories, not only work out calories :) When I wake up in the morning it shows already 450 calories.

You burn calories when you're resting too. The 1174 was an estimate for the whole day... I'm guessing you didn't have it on all day so a lot of hours were given as resting calories. Wear it for a few days and use the website if you can. It's so much easier to understand what it's doing with all the graphs and such.

You can add me as a friend on there if you'd like. http://www.fitbit.com/user/25TJQV
