I have a friend that is anemic and is struggeling with her weight. I know stuff to get ME on track but I know nothing about anemia in order to help her. Is there anyone out there that has a similar problem? and what does your eating habits consist of? Thanks!

Anemia should be treated by a Doctor and treatment usually consists of taking an OTC iron pill. Blood monitoring is needed. Anemia can make you feel tired, so working out is harder. She should eat iron rich foods. Red meat, egg yolks, dark/leafy greens (spinach), dried fruits (prunes), iron-fortified cereals, beans, lentils, chick peas, soybeans, liver, etc. Also, eat along with vitamin C rich foods for better absorption.0

I had Anemia..don't believe I have it anymore..but I have not been tested again for it. I actually had a major anxiety attack and had to be rushed to the hospital and that is how I found out. I was very very thin at that time but not sure if the Anemia is what caused it. I did have to take iron pills for a bit and eat Iron rich foods. After a few months I sort of forgot about the whole think and went on doing normal things. I would definitely suggest she talk to a doctor. Each person is different so what might have worked for one person might not work for her!0

I suffer from anemia and I get iron infusions regularly. My body does not absorb iron through food or pills. Being anemic has not negatively impacted my weight loss journey. I stick to my calorie intake and my exercise routine. I am losing fine. Is she feeling too tired to workout?0

I've suffered from anemia since puberty. There are books with great info out there. You'll find cookbooks with info, too.
How is her diet??? Mine anemia was the worse in college due to poor eating.0
