Tips to loose fat (with restrictions on activity due to back injury)

Hey all,
I was on a good track, having lost 7 kilos in 2 months, as a result of vigorous workouts and consistent diet plans. But, I recently sustained a back injury, and the doctors have adviced me to keep away from the gym, to not lift weights, and not do any activity that puts my spine ( disc between the 4th and 5th vertebra, to be precise) on pressure.
Doctor has, however, recommended activities like normal paced walking, swimming and cycling, which he says would be helpful to the condition.
I weigh 81 kilos now, and my goal is to weigh 75 kilos, and there's no way I'm backing off now. I'll be keeping a close watch on the diet, but I need help sorting out my activity regimen, which will really help me fulfil my goals in the next few months.

Thanks a lot.

Do what your doctors told you for exercise and pay attention to your calorie intake just like before.

Go into your setting here at MFP and lower your activity level to what is appropriate for your current daily activity. That should lower your daily calorie intake goal.
  • I agree with stevencloser... Try the recumbent bike at your gym - it will support your back better than a regular bike, walk on the treadmill, walk around in a pool... low impact activities is still burning calories.

Exactly. Be really tight on your logging and mesuring, and do what you can do activity-wise: I love long walks and my static bike tbh, it does the job. Good luck!
