    No.

    You have to be in a caloric deficit to lose weight no matter what... but exercise is good for your overall health too.

    Yes, you will lose weight. The mass you'll lose would likely be a suboptimal mix of fat and lean body mass, but you will indeed lose.

    Yes. People who go into comas lose body fat as well as people who are wheelchair bound if they are in calorie deficit.
    Body fat loss is systematic meaning when you lose, you lose from all over.

    Yes.

    However, there are many reasons to exercise other than as an aid to weight loss. I sleep better, and feel better physically and emotionally when I have a regular exercise program. Our bodies were meant to move, not sit around.

    Losing weight by just sitting around means you won't look as good naked.
