Need advice: exercising with strained hamstring

Sprained my hamstring 2 weeks ago. Silly me, continued with my runninh/gym sessions. Now realised I really do need to rest my leg to let it heal.
Going stir crazy already. Need to work out. I can already feel the pounds piling back on. I'm doing light leg exercises advised when seen in a&e, I'm doing cold/heat therapy and trying to massage it myself: hoping for a more speedier recovery
Any suggestions on workouts I can do whilst resting my leg.

Swimming arms-only with a pull buoy between your legs in the pool will allow you to maintain fitness if you do it at a reasonable pace.1

I had a partial rupture of my hamstrings just behind the knee. I built it back up with proper nutrition and doing upper body weight work whilst standing. The tiny movements needed to maintain posture were more than enough during the healing and strengthening process. I then went on to add small squats and lunges later on and eventually returned to normal exercise when I was able to beginning with using some modifications around the leg work aspect1
