Looking to buy One but i have now heard conflicting views about the nutritional values of the rice vs regular boiled. Thoughts on this please.

Rice is yummy.
If it fits your cals and macros and you like it then go for it.0 -
Rather than buy a rice steamer I bought myself an Instant Pot. It is an electric pressure cooker that has 7 different functions :a rice cooker, yogurt maker, slow cooker, soup maker, stew maker, steamer and pressure cooker. I do not use any other device now. It was the best purchase I have ever made!

I love my rice cooker, it makes brown or white rice, and even has settings for congee (rice porridge) which I haven't tried yet.
I get really stuck when I'm visiting my dad and have to cook rice in a pot now, the rice cooker is 100% easier!
I can't see that it would be very different nutritional values - the water all cooks away so no nutrition is leaving the pot, it's all there.0 -
I don't like rice (sorry, ancestors, lol). But my family does. I couldn't do it without a rice cooker. Pour in rice, water, and any add ins. Push button and wait. No threat of scorching or undercooking. Switches to keep warm setting once done. So convenient and makes perfect rice of all variety.0

Exactly what I am after as I cook 3 days worth of chicken and rice ahead. Convenience is the most important thing for me above the food itself.0

I have a steamer and can do rice as well as lots of other things in it. My favorite is to do a coconut rice where I add coconut milk in place of some of the water. It's pretty amazing0

We eat a lot of brown rice so we got a reconditioned one on ebay for half price, a Panasonic, with fuzzy logic. I think it was around $50.
If you stick to white rice, you can get something for under $10 at many stores.0 -
Rice cooker- 2c brown basmati-1 tbsp butter = heaven.0

Rice is sugar. I don't eat it because I prefer to burn fat. Keeping Carbs below 100 grams/day is the way to go!0

We use ours for lots of things. Wouldn't live without one.0
