I want to be dedicated to MFP I am 5'2" . I see all the wonderful success stories but I am in desperate need of motiviation. I need to know that it is possible for a girl weighing 195 lbs at my height can lose the weight and still look awesome!! I'm so tiered with the yoyoing and want a lifestyle change.

    You can totally do this!! Make small goals (monthly) and try on your old clothes so you can see your progress. Find low calorie high fiber foods you like. If I did it, anyone can!

    I decided to measure myself rather then weight as I weight myself before my holiday was 193, after same ( I could physically see myself softer due to no exercise and bad nutrition), 2 weeks after being back to low calories and weights still the same but physically look different ( not as soft)

    You just gotta stick with it, good or bad and continue to learn how to make good choices and when you make a bad one how to move on. I've been there so I understand. 5'2". At my heaviest 220lbs now 155, 20lbs to go!

    Me too! I stopped running and eat terrible this past winter, I gained about 15 pounds and lost muscle. Went up almost 2 pant sizes!!! I've been running again and eating healthier for the past 3 weeks and I can tell that my thighs are getting smaller already!

    Just keep going, one day at a time. I'm your height, and I struggle constantly but I'm doing it! Over half-way there. Some people on here have lost so much more than you, so it is possible. It's a whole life commitment to change, all eating habits and exercise.

    More specific tips are to only eat back about 25% of your exercise calories and do not trust the auto settings on MFP. Weigh food if you can, and use other tools to monitor your calorie burn. Eat water-filled snacks like cucumber and replace everything you like with healthier/lower cal versions. Good luck!

    I started at 196 (I'm also 5'2") and a year later I'm 136 pounds. It's been a long road, but moderating my food intake (and alcohol intake for that matter) has been key. I began running after I lost the first 15 or so pounds, and I've not looked back since! Ran a 5k, then a 15k, then a half marathon all at around the 150 pound mark. I hit a plateau for a while and stayed at 150, then got injured and had to reduce my caloric intake again to compensate for no cardio. That is how I've dropped another 14 pounds. Stay strong, don't beat yourself up, learn from your mistakes, think of how much better you'll FEEL (don't just focus on how you'll look) as you shed those pounds! Good luck!

    I'm 5'2" as well and lost 50 lbs now starting weight 194... So we are right there together lol. You can do this its all mind set.. One best advice u can give u is don't get hungry. I alway had something to eat with me where ever I was... I don't even go visit family with out a snack because I don't want to be caught somewhere having to stress over what I can eat and end up eating the wrong thing... Set your self up for Success and u can achieve it

    We all can do this. My first piece of advice - think lifestyle change, and not diet. Second, don't feel like you have to do everything at once, it is a process. I started by adding some exercise, then when I had wrapped my mind around that, looked at eating, then added more and different exercise. This can be different for everyone. I am 5ft, and my highest weight was about 210. I lost a little weight, and my norm became 188. I am now 158 (I was 147 until I got pregnant). Eat healthy most of the time, incorporate more fruits and vegetables, and exercise - whatever that is for you. Challenge yourself at times. I never thought that I would be a runner, but now, I am. It became a challenge for me, for myself to do better - competing against myself. I try my best, and sometimes like yesterday, I ate 450 calories worth of chocolate, but I made sure to adjust and eat more veggies the rest of the day, and to exercise a little more to stay within my calorie range.
