20 pounds in 5 months...

So, my family vacation is happening September 5, 2016 and (for once) I want to look GOOD in swim trunks. My goal is to lose 20# by then, which gives me roughly 5 months. Is this possible? If so, any suggestions on how to successfully execute this? I want to follow a diet/eating plan that is something I could do long term - no low carb or anything like that. I've tried Intermittent Fasting before, which I liked, but I don't think I could do it long term.
My work has a gym and I've started working out for 30min before work and at lunch (a mix of lifting weights and cardio) which I actually LOVE.

I'm 5'4" @ 157#. Thanks!

Look GOOD in swim trunks by not skipping leg days.

Set mfp to lose 1 pound per week and just stay in the calorie allowed it gives you. 1 pound per week is a realistic goal. For weight loss calories in calories out is key, so if you're staying within your calorie goal you should be losing weight. I'd recommend invest in a kitchen scale right away and weigh all your food.

    20lbs/5months = 4 lbs per month

    4lbs/4weeks = 1 lb per week.

    3500 calories (1 lb)/7 days = 500 calories per day.

You will need to eat at a deficit of 500 calories below your TDEE to lose one lb a week, which is perfectly manageable.

And you don't need to do any wonky diets like low carb or whatever, or even fasting... You can just go on eating exactly what you eat now, just 500 calories under maintenance. You can use this to find your TDEE: http://dailyburn.com/life/health/how-to-calculate-bmr/ or you can use the built in MFP calculator, but i like this better.

Possible with dedication. Definitely figure out your calorie budget and stay within it; that's the key.
