Milk casein?

I'm trying to go non dairy but I keep running into products that contain milk casein even though they are "non dairy" can anyone explain this? Will it interfere with weight loss? I've definitely determined that I won't lose weight when eating dairy products. Is lactose free the same?

Casein is a protein found in milk. It doesn't trigger issues for people who are intolerant to lactose, so it's often found in cheese or other products that have eliminated other forms of dairy. But it is dairy

I'm not aware of how it could possibly keep you from losing weight, but I'm not familiar with the condition that would keep you from losing weight if you consume any dairy.

For what purpose are you trying to go non dairy? How have you determined that you won't lose weight when eating dairy products?

I wonder if it works. Protein really helps me.
And eating a touch of calcium daily could be good for your bones.

Casein has a strong cancer link, so it's best to avoid. Silk Almond milk is fine.

I am allergic to Casein. You need to search for Vegan items. Dairy Free as you have learned does not mean milk free or casein free. If you look at the ingredients You will usually see under the list in bold letters Contains: MILK or milk derived. I have switched to almond creamer and almond milk. But you still have to check their labels. Vegan is what you have to look for. Califia is a great brand of vegan almond milk products.

Casein is a blight! Causes inflammation (especially in the gut) in the body, and can effect the flora even in those not allergic. Case in point, me! Since I've quit dairy my tummy thanks my on a daily basis by not sending me to the bathroom 20 times.
