If I was looking to do 40 minutes of cardio is it best to do it all on one machine or alternate (I.e. 10 min run, 10 min rowing, 20 min cycling, Etc.) Or does it even matter

Doesn't matter0

From personal experience, I'd say staying on one machine for the 40 minutes would be better - you avoid the hassle and time lost having to adjust a new machine to your liking three times in one workout. I'd use lots of intervals in those 40 minutes, sprints and the like, to make the most of your time.0

If your goal is simply to get cardio exercise it really doesn't matter.
If you want to be a cyclist then cycle, if you want to be a runner then run....
Rowing works more muscles of course.
Why not alternate on different days rather than waste time shifting from place to place and setting up equipment/machines?0
