Hey everyone! So, I returned to MFP one month ago, about a month after renewing a commitment I made to myself long ago to take better care of myself physically, and mentally. For about ten years now, I've suffered rather debilitating social anxiety and depression. It was around that time that I started gaining weight. I was always healthy and active as a child and teenager, playing sports, putting care and interest into my appearance and social activities. When I turned seventeen, it all just... stopped. My anxiety and developing body issues tangled into one big mess, and I've struggled for the last couple years to start working through it all. My motivations are broad and many, from preventing potential medical problems, to feeling good in a bathing suit, to learning to love myself.

About a year and a half ago, I gave this an honest go. I lost about 25 lbs, and was feeling great, but through self-sabotage, fear, or whatever it was, I gave up. Long story short, here I am again, two months into this ever-changing, scary, exciting journey... and I'm feeling great. I still have a lot of issues to work out, but I know that by focusing on the emotional and mental aspects of these changes as much as the physical, that it -is- possible, and it will happen. Not just the weight loss, and healthy changes, but a healthy STATE OF MIND.

TL;DR -

Over the last two months I have:

Lost 10 lbs.
Ran for an entire mile. (15 minutes, but I did it!)
Signed up for the Run for your lives zombie run 5k in November, making a real commitment to myself, and my mother who paid for me. :)
Agreed to a blind date. (eep!)
Done away with sodas and fast food.
Eaten over my calorie goal a few times, and did not beat myself up, or GIVE UP.
Had some grumpy days, but wake up the next morning, happy to accept that it's a new day.
