Cooked chicken weight!

Options
Arghhhhh, so. It just occurred to me that the 17oz pack of skinless, boneless chicken thighs I've been buying is not 17oz when cooked! I've been dividing it into 3, thinking I was eating 5.5oz of chicken for lunch. However, because it's cooked, that's going to be much less, right? Anybody have any idea how much 'shrinkage' it goes through when cooked?

I'm aiming to eat about 6oz chicken. I presume that when people talk about serving sizes of meat and poultry that they're referring to the cooked weight, is that correct?

Generally it's logged raw. If you're aiming for 6 ounces cooked, weigh it after you cook it to see how much you're eating, and log it as cooked chicken thighs

Weigh and log the raw weight.

Although the cooked piece may weigh less, it still has the same amount of calories- Water was lost during cooking.
