Exercise calories?

Noob question here, but should I be using my exercise calories if I'm trying to lose weight?
I have them displayed, and use them to "treat" myself if I've killed it at the gym (on occasion). I'm new at this so the ultra strict diet is going well, but every now and then I want to have a tiny bit of normal food.

For me, it depends on the day. If I am hungry and I have exercise calories, I use them. I try to stay under 50% though. Most days, I do not use them and stick to my calorie limit prior to exercise calories.0
