Low energy - need friends

For a few days now, I'm feeling lethargic, exhausted and not as hungry. I'm not working out as hard. I'm oversleeping. And I'm not reaching my daily protein/calories goals. I'd make myself food, but I wasn't hungry and it would seem unappetizing for me. Eating only a bagel and a coffee for a day seems likely for me at this point. I'm forcing myself to eat rather than eating from hunger.

Weight loss is great but building muscle is better. So eating less seems counter productive for me. Anybody else have similar experiences?

Eating a bagel and coffee for one whole day seems like not enough food.
You need nutrition and protein to function.
No wonder you feel not good, I would be miserable if that's all I ate in one day.
Get a meal plan and plan some real meals.

Thank you. I'm not sure if eating less is making me lethargic, or if exhaustion is causing me to have lower appetite. I'll have to think about what I have to eat today. I need to be told this is unhealthy and unacceptable, or else I'll just continue doing it.

More protein there are lots of foods that have them, add some snacks to your day as well. I looked at a few days in your food diary add some more food.

I hear ya, misstertea! I have low energy and low desire today to do anything. I've been "blah" all week. I have a new dog I need to take for a walk. So, I'll go and you do something active too. Plus have a piece of fruit or something. I'll report back when I get in from my walk. Go team go!

I was the same way, lethargic. I went to the doctor and she ran blood tests. Turns our my Vitamin D was nearly none existent. Now I take D pills a couple of times a week and I'm back to normal. Maybe see your doc?

Try protein shakes or smoothies if you're not hungry for heavy foods. There’s also veggies with protein. Fruits good too. I also started taking vitamin B & D. That helps. You can do it.

Yes! More protein. The food diary is a bit off. I would spend time making meals, and recording it ahead of time. But I haven't gotten around to eat some of those meals yet. Thank you!

Congrats on getting a new pet! I'll report back to you later when I eat something. Thank you.

I might have to check in with my doc. I don't really check myself. Thanks for letting me know, vitamin d deficiency is a possibility as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check out the shakes and fruits, or soups. They're really easy to consume (less chewing).

I have had a lot of stomach problems the last 3 years. So I know what it is like to either be unable to eat, nauseous all the time, full after two bites, or just not hungry at all. Not eating takes a huge toll on your body. Sometimes you need to just get something in you, anything and get your body some energy before it will recover and then you can go back to eating a more solid diet. You could try drinks instead of solid food for a while until you get your appetite back. So try smoothies, protein shakes, eat some applesauce. When I was having a hard time eating, I would get the equate nutritional shakes. I would drink them in place of food to help me from getting sick until I was able to eat again. It isn't the best way, defiantly not a long term solution. But right now it is best to get nutrition back in you and get your energy up. You appetite may come back afterwards. If it lasts too long, I would suggest going to the doctor.

Hey, I'm back. I went for about 60 minutes on a walk with my dog, Buddy. I work from home, so I have the luxury of a flexible schedule. Did you get to do any thing active, misster tea? Walk a flight of stairs or a lap around your office or something? I am now eating some fresh pineapple and a half of grapefruit. I'm thinking that later I'll fix myself a spinach omelette and wrap it in a tortilla with some salsa. Keep trying, right?

I struggle with eating enough. I do have not much of a hunger reflex at all, never have. I'm just a boredom eater. But when I feel uncomfortably full, I find it hard to force myself to eat. Since I've been eating nutritionally dense food, rather than calorie dense foods, I'm stuffed all the time. I truly just have to force myself to eat every few hours because I know my body needs it. So even if you don't want to, try to eat. Or, there are people out there that do fasting and get all their calories in a small window. That might work better for you.
