Making use of Fitbit steps info

I've installed the app and synched my Fitbit to MFP and I can see it is going to make adjustments for the data it receives.

I don't really want MFP to do this automatically, I wanted to be able to enter my steps as cardiovascular exercise but steps aren't a valid exercise. Is there a way to convert the Fitbit daily steps number to something MFP recognises as a method of cardiovascular exercise?

Thanks.

Steps in and of themselves are not counted as cardiovascular exercise because they do not raise your heart rate for any extended period of time. If you go for a run, Fitbit will log that differently (as active minutes). You can turn off auto-sync and input the cardio yourself if you choose.

I'm not sure how I would enter it myself as I don't know which activity it would count as. I also don't know how long I spend doing it as I just walk to/around where I want to rather than for any particular length of time.

It's not possible to enter exercise that doesn't fall into the two categories then? Even though other things do burn calories?

Fitbit is already logging the steps for you as exercise. That's why your calories change. Why would you want / need to do this separately? I don't understand. Doesn't seem to be any benefit from doing so? You could log it as walking but then you would have to use the data from fitbit to make the entry so it would end up begin the same thing.
