Carb Confusion... HELP!

Right, I've noticed something here, and I figured I would get other peoples opinions on this.
Carbs: The last few weeks I have tried to keep carbs down (not to a minimum, but I have drastically cut them since I started the weight loss attempt number 600967! Anyway, last night I had chicken fillets, rice and chips with 2 pieces of bread (no butter) and it was fairly carborific, BUT I didn't exceed neither my calorie allowance or the carb allowance (came close) AND due to my erratic work hours, I end up having my dinner quite late (usually between 2-3 hours before I go to bed) which people have advised against. Now, one negative factor I have noticed whilst losing weight is sometimes in mornings I have felt groggy and tired, whereas this morning I was up and out of bed with minimum effort, I feel full of life and feel energetic! Could this be something to do with the carbs I ate last night? I ask for advice on this, because as you can imagine, with being overweight I'm obviously no expert on nutrition and all the advice I can get is really appreciated!
Also, I'm always looking for new friends on here, I like to compare food diaries and read on other peoples success, it helps keep me motivated!

I don't think it's unreasonable to correlate the two but I'm not sure anyone can say with certainty that it was the late evening meal/carbs.
That being said, unless it makes you feel bad or disrupts your sleep there's nothing wrong with eating your calories/carbs late at night. Many people prefer it.
Given the same total daily intake the differences between eating early and eating late aren't likely to matter at all in terms of actual fat loss.0 -
Carb is fine as long as you keep it complex vs simple. Buy the whole grain version instead of white processed kind, Your body will thank you.0

People aren't all the same. Some people seem to deal better with carbs than others. Try alternating between a carb heavy dinner, a protein heavy dinner and a fat heavy dinner and log how you feel each morning after (naturally, remain within your calorie goals). I'd repeat 5 or 10 times for each variant (or stop when it's clear which you deal with best). This should tell you which is best for you.0

Ignore the advice against late eating. It only makes sense when it impacts total calorie consumption (people that eat late eat more if this is an extra meal) or if you ave digestion problems into your sleep.
Do a test like the poster above suggests to see if any variable makes sense.0
