DOMS QUESTION

I started up at 9 Rounds kickboxing gym last week and really like doing it daily because it's quick, keeps me entertained and burns good calories. Problem is my quads hurt at the moment from all the different kicks and squats etc. I know it takes up 24 to 72 hours to heal from DOMS, but I really don't want to wait 2-3 days before going back in. I can't find anything on google about exercising through DOMS being bad, except of course, if you overdo it too much and injure yourself. Because I'm 42, I'm pretty careful about just going steady and slow on each station. Thoughts on DOMS and exercising protocols while having it?

If you're just starting out, you may do well to go every other day rather than everyday for a couple weeks until your body gets used to it.

Keep moving, thats the best way to make it go away. Go for a walk or do some low intensity cardio. But yeah, dont go all out the first week, work up to going every day, dont do it right off the bat.

Talk with your trainers or coaches and let them know what is going on with your quads. Theyihht be able to suggest something lighter while you heal for the next few days. Hopefully it is not the exact same routine every day.

I started taking L-Carnitine L-Tartrate with my post-meal carbs. This has helped immensely with DOMS following my leg day, which were lasting all week, every week. Lol.
