adjustable dumbbells, full body dumbbell workout?

Are they worth the money vs multiple smaller dumbbells?

Has anyone used them?

I have given up on a traditional gym due to budget and childcare options (6 month old) and work 7am-7pm. The 24 hour centers obviously don't have childcare.

I found a functional looking workout: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/rudy6.htm

I used to do stronglifts 5x5 prior to having my daughter and prefer lifting to any sort of cardio.

Looking for any opinions on the brands of dumbbells and if anyone has switched/restarted and made it work.

Sure, adjustable DBs can work. What is your budget? And how much did you lift on your Stronglift lifts?

That workout is fine, but squatting with DBs on your shoulders may get awkward. Personally i would hold 1 or 2 DBs down between the knees. Also, lying exercises aren't as functional as standing, so i'd do standing chest presses with a door-mounted resistance band kit (Bodylastics, Black Mountain, etc). You can also do ab twists and other stuff with them. :+1:

I'll look into resistance bands kits. Sounds like a good addition.

Lift wise. Bench was 90+bar, deadlift same. (very bad back so I didn't push that one) squats 360 was last so I have a feeling that one I will just say whatever. Overhead press was 50+ bar

Everything else dumbbell wise was under 100lbs. Only things over were squats and leg press, and honestly if I just keep most of the muscle mass on those I am fine with that. Mind you all of this was about 18 moths ago so my numbers won't even be close to that anymore.

I'm also thinking an exercise ball might be helpful as a way to get up off the ground. A bench will not work as we are in a small place and I have no place to put it away, a ball if my daughter crawls onto won't hurt herself.
